Out of the Box 2016 Children's Festival
QPAC Queensland Cultural Precinct Southbank Brisbane Designed 4 x 8 metre Rangoli Installations with Indian artist Komal Arora. Created Installation: Boxes and Bling 2016 Drawing upon traditional rangoli fused with contemporary design and materials the work engaged over 10000 contributions by children. Underpinning the work was the festival theme of BELONGING. The 2016 program explored the expertise of children, and the concept that every child is a valuable, thoughtful, and insightful member of society who make meaningful contributions to civic life. The program also celebrated children’s connection and engagement with Indigenous and Asian cultures, with a particular focus on Indian cultures, customs and art forms. |
